The Therapies

Physiotherapists

    • assist people to regain or improve the quality of movements, using aids as needed.
    • advise on back care and safe handling for caregivers and people at work

Occupational Therapists

    • assist people to maintain and achieve their maximum level of independence and participation in work, leisure and self care, using equipment when required.
    • advise on the safety of working, living and recreation areas.

Music Therapists

    • use music:
      - as a non-verbal means of communication
      - to meet emotional needs and to help develop social interaction
      - to foster learning and maintain cognitive functioning
      - to support physical needs
    • advise on the use of music to benefit clients in living, working and recreation environments.

Speech Language

    • advise on alternative communication strategies.
    • diagnose swallowing problems

Dietitians

    • manage nutritional needs to improve or maintain health
    • advise on menu planning for facilities and individuals.
    • advise on Food Hygiene and Safety

Therapy Assistants

    • assist therapists to implement individual or group treatments
